Power to the Poets Giving Cohort

We are super excited to announce the creation of our first-ever giving cohort, Power to the Poets!

What is a Giving Cohort?

Great question! This program is a way for the WordPlay community to make a deep investment in our city’s next generation of creative leaders, and an invitation to become more closely connected to the creative programs we offer. This is an intentional community of individuals and businesses banding together to lift up the voices of young people who so bravely put pen to paper and step up to the mic to share their stories.

How do I join?

Super easy. While all donations are needed and deeply appreciated, donors at or above $250 during our 2022 Annual Campaign automatically become founding members of the Power to the Poets Giving Cohort for 2023.

Cohort benefits include perks at three levels:

UPLIFT ($250+)

- Personal invitations with priority seating to all our public poetry performances and related events

- Quarterly email featuring program insights and highlights from our young poets,

teaching artists, and staff

- Invitation to participate in an annual Cohort-only poetry writing workshop led by a

nationally recognized poet

AMPLIFY ($500+)

- All of the above, plus:

- Bi-monthly mailing from a featured youth poet

- A Power to the Poets t-shirt

EMPOWER ($1,000+)

- All of the above, plus:

- Original poetry art poster for National Poetry Month in April, locally made and signed by the poet

- Invitation to an intimate annual poetry gathering where you can connect with notable local poets, writers, and creatives in the city
